U.S. President Donald Trump has aggressively pursued what may be the one thing he most desires: a Nobel Peace Prize. But while a handful of people and groups have revealed that they nominated him for the award, a win is likely to prove elusive when the Nobel Committee announces the recipient on Friday.

Trump has garnered nominations from Pakistan, Cambodia, Israel, South Korea¡¯s ruling party and U.S. Republican lawmakers, among others, with the U.S. president claiming he has ¡°ended seven wars.¡±

However, his divisive style of governing and ¡°America First¡± policies have shaken the U.S. and the globe ¡ª and often run counter to the ideals the Nobel Committee looks for when selecting winners, according to observers.
