This year, the ever-expanding Tokyo art and design festival has once again added to its wide-ranging array of exhibitions, showcases and presentations, which run from Oct. 18 to 27.

This week, On: Design takes a look at a few highlights from the festival's largest iteration yet of 117 events spread out across the capital.

Designart¡¯s official exhibitions at the World Kita Aoyama Building in Minato Ward are always well-rounded displays of both established and up-and-coming designers, artists and artisans. For 2024, its 18 creators¡¯ works were curated by leading experts from four different fields: contemporary art director Kodama Kanazawa, interior and spatial designer Masato Kawai, social sculptor and interdisciplinary artist Ryuta Aoki and the Ubushina craft initiative founder Yudai Yachikawa.
